Around ten years ago, there was a calamity. A mysterious force interfered with Pokemon, causing them to act out of their usually tame natures. Theystarted to attack each other and the humans. The trainers did not know what was causing the Pokemon to act up in the way they were. Reasearch was done at scientific labs, yet the cause remained unknown. The Pokemon inflicted devastating damage on the tiwns and cities, leaving many homeless. When the destruction started to increase, a scientist found that the DNA of the Pokemon had been damaged, somehow. It was believed that somewhere in the Mako Region, an object crashed to Earth. Many thought that this object was being harnessed by those that would use it for evil and were causing the Pokemon's violent natures. Despite the destruction, only 1,000 humans were injured in the hospitals. However, the death count remains hidden, believed to be too high for many to bear.
Also, the Teams were starting to rise to power again. Team Snag'em and Team Cipher were all but complete ruins of their original selves. Only a few die-hard peons remained. Team Rocket was also slowly climbing to power. They were the ones many believed to be harnessing the fallen object against the Pokemon. Team magma and Team Aqua were also in their consstant and neverending war with one another. Team galactic was still intent on the capture of Dialga and Palkia, as well as Mespirit, Uxie, and Azelf, who had migrated to the Mako Region. Between this and the Pokemon Rampage, it was believed that the Mako Region would be destroyed. However, another anomaly happened and the Pokemon returned to their normal states. Trainers, Coordinators, Breeders, and all else had struggle to rebuild their lives in the aftermath.

The Present is a much brighter Version of what it has been in the past. The Pokemon are back to normal and the cities and towns were rebuilt. Many were built bigger and better than the original ones. Scientists are still determined to discover whatever happened, but without any Pokemon under the effects, their material that they can work with is slowly diminishing.
The Teams are still active as well. team Magma has created an alliance with Team Rocket, doubling their power and putting everyone on edge. TTeam Rocket and Team Magma have both been subject to new leaders, who rule the teams more effectively than their past bosses. Team Aqua has also gotten a new leader. The Team no longer steals Pokemon but is still a leading threat to makind, at least, that is what civilians think. Team Galactic has found a new rival in the freshly formed Team data, a group of visionaries led by Markus. The teams are starting to begin war with each other. Team Virus has also arisen with its new form of capturing Pokemon called Virus balls. It is starting to become a serious threat.
Team Psicosis has also been formed. Not much is known about this team except for their mercenary status. They refuse to pick sides and work for other teams for pay. They rose shortly before Team Ace, led by Alex, who has formed an alliance with the Pokemon Rangers to bring down the teams that seek only to work for evil.

With all of these events going on, people are starting to believe that there will be a repeat of what happened ten years ago. The Team Wars have built in severity and many think it is possible that the Anomaly will happen again and that Pokemon will start attacking humans like before. Many others are confident that all of these events will lead to a series of powerful events that could all change the Mako Region as they know it. Nobody is sure, but everyone knows that it will happen.
